The first hole has a deliberately wide fairway, so no need for a breakfast ball here.  A slight right-to-left tee shot is preferred, but not required.  A mid-to-short iron approach is protected by a front left bunker that will gobble up a poor approach shot.  The green slopes left to right, and anywhere in the middle of the green is a good birdie look, no matter the hole location.
